Ratusan Mahasiswa Unwir Ikuti KKN

Sebanyak 586 mahasiswa semester VI Universitas Wiralodra (Unwir) Kab. Indramayu, Senin (9/7/2018) mengikuti kegiatan praktik Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) yang ditempatkan di 30 desa di tiga kecamatan selama 40 hari dan kegiatan KKN tersebut dilepas Sekda Kab. Indramayu, A. Bahtiar.

Ke-586 mahasiswa itu, terbagi dari Fakultas Teknik 19 orang, Fakultas Kesehatan Masyarakat 43 orang, Fakultas Pertanian 27 orang, Fisip 49 orang, Fakultas Agama Islam 48 orang, Fakultas Hukum 127 orang, Fakultas Ekonomi 136 orang, untuk FKIP Bahasa Inggris 39 orang, Bahasa Indonesia 35 orang, Matematika 30 orang dan Biologi 33 orang.

Ditemui KC Online, Ketua Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat (LPPM) Unwir Indramayu, Yudhi Mahmud mengatakan, ke-586 mahasiswa yang mengikuti praktik KKN kali ini akan ditempatkan di 30 desa di tiga kecamatan, yakni Kecamatan Lohbener sebanyak 241 orang, Kecamatan Lelea sebanyak 213 orang dan Kecamatan Cikedung sebanyak 132 orang dengan jumlah peserta 266 mahasiswa dan 320 mahasiswi dengan rincian jumlah mahasiswa reguler sebanyak 425 orang dan non reguler sebanyak 161 orang.

Sesuai dengan tujuannya, untuk meningkatkan relevansi pendidikan tinggi dengan perkembangan dan kebutuhan masyarakat akan IPTEKS yang didapat di kampus dengan realita pembangunan dalam masyarakat. Bagi para mahasiswa, kegiatan KKN harus dirasakan sebagai pengalaman belajar yang baru yang tidak didapat di dalam kampus. “Bagi peserta program KKN, kegiatan ini merupakan salah satu jembatan menuju strata satu,” terangnya.

Dari segi kelembagaan perguruan tinggi, sambung dia, program KKN merupakan bentuk tanggungjawab sosial terhadap masyarakat dengan harapan dapat menyentuh berbagai aspek pembangunan di desa. “Semua itu, tergantung pada kreativitas mahasiswa dan partisipasi aktif masyarakat dengan difasilitasi para mahasiswa,” tandasnya.

Dia berharap, para peserta yang mengikuti kegiatan KKN di 30 desa yang ada di Kab. Indramayu dapat mengimplementasikan ilmunya di tengah masyarakat. Hal itu dimaksudkan agar ilmu yang didapat dari luar kampus dapat diimplementasikan melalui karya yang ditemui atau yang didapat saat melakukan KKN.

Hal itu merupakan sebagai salah satu bentuk kontribusi pengabdiannya dalam membantu pembangunan daerah. “Diyakini para peserta KKN mampu beradaptasi dengan masyarakat, sehingga tercipta sinergitas harmonis antara perguruan tinggi (PT) dengan lapisan masyarakat selama di tempat KKN,” ungkapnya.

Terpisah Rektor Unwir Kab. Indramayu, Ujang Suratno menyatakan, jumlah peserta program KKN tahun akademik 2017/2018 ini lebih banyak dibandingkan tahun-tahun sebelumnya, hal itu dibarengi dengan jumlah pendaftar mahasiswa baru yang cukup membludak.

“Kami mengucapkan terima kasih kepada para peserta KKN yang akan memaksimalkan ilmunya dan akan beradaptasi dengan lingkungan masyarakat serta bisa membawa nama baik kampus. Karena, semua yang dipraktikkan para peserta KKN di lapangan akan dinilai oleh tim Dosen Pembimbing Lingkungan (DPL),” katanya.(Ratno/KC Online)
